Joell Ortiz, Slaughterhouse, underground rapper, underground hip hop

Joell Ortiz

In the past year Joell Ortiz and fellow brethren of Slaughterhouse have rumbled the caverns of the underground hip hop caves! Joell Ortiz, Slaughterhouse, Joe Budden, Crooked I, underground rappers, underground hip hop

These four geniuses...and I do mean motherfucking geniuses!!!... were able to combine forces and become a weapon of doomsday prophecies!

While each of them standing alone summon a force that will wither your bones the four of them together will decimate the planet.

Be prepared for all of these guys to take it to another universe in 2010.

The Birth of a Monstrosity

Ortiz was first influenced into hip hop by the ciphers that used to go on in front of his building. Joell Ortiz, Slaughterhouse, underground rapper, underground hip hop

These ciphers inspired him to write his first rhyme so that he could get in on the action. He was surprised at the warm welcome that was extended to him.

With a high score on the SAT's and a scholarship for his basketball skills Joell had some options on his way out of high school.

His worries at home kept him from pursuing that though.

Troubles and Inspiration

His mother had an addiction problem. He didn't want to leave her behind only to hear that something had happened to her. So he stayed in Brooklyn.

Selling drugs to make money and help support his mother. He ended up supporting her in more ways than he wanted to.

Before he knew it money and drugs were coming up missing.

All through these hardships he kept working on his rhyming skills.

Dude did what the best of em do. Vented through his rhyming.

Aftermath

Working hard and gaining the attention of XXL he soon caught the eyes and ears of Dr.Dre.

Dre flew him out to Cali and the next day he was signed with Aftermath. Joell Ortiz, Slaughterhous, underground rapper, underground hip hop

Ortiz was with Aftermath for a while but apparently Jimmy Iovene didn't like him.

So unfortunately ( for Aftermath...ha ha ha! ) Joell had to leave. Which ended up being good for him because had he stayed there he would have been back burnerd for years to come.

Working independently he's free to cook and serve the dope shit us underground hip hop heads deserve.
