Diggy Simmons
Stretching His Wings for His First Flight
Entering into the hip hop game at the young age of 14, Diggy Simmons has his work cut out for him.While he already has quite a following because of his father's show Run's House and his various blogging activitis online,
He still needs to etch out a place in the world of hip hop.It's apparent that he desires to carve his own path and doesn't seek to use his father or his uncle as a crutch. Releasing his first mixtape called " First Flight " young Diggy is stretching his wings and flying high.
The Family Legacy
Following in the family legacy he has some big shoes to fill. I think he knows he's gonna have to grind hard if he's gonna make a name for himself.Already in possession of money and fame there's no other reason for him to be doing this other than for the love of it. Combine that with the fact that he is overcast by some massive shadows and you get the equation for a legend in the making! With the desire to etch his own path it's kinda hard when your father and uncle are both legendary hip hop figures. He's bound to get some recognition just based on that alone. I get the feeling that his ambition to overcome that will produce some great work though. I'm sure growing up in such a unique environment will bring to the table some experiences that aren't your everyday average occurrences. Most likely taking a step outside of the grimy content hip hop tends to display.
Genetic Inheritance
Seeing as he's still so young he's off to a great start. His flow is rapid and intelligent. I'm sure his skill will only grow with the insight that comes with age.I was surprised to be impressed but really I shouldn't have been. He is a Simmons...It's in his blood! The first time I came across him was when I seen a feature for him on XXL magazines home page. His feature could've been a result of his family connections or maybe because he got signed to Atlantic records. Either way it was a good way to break some ground as a fledgeing artist. Anyway...That was when I first came across his " Made You Look " video. I was immediately impressed. Many of you may know Diggy Simmons as that little kid from Run's house.
Well guess what, Diggy is growing up and trying to carve out a path for his life. So if your not already a fan check out his music.
He definitely has a massive potential and he's only just getting started. I'm very interested to see what comes out of this kid in the future.
