The Focused Crooked I
Where do I start with Crooked I...?There's so much to say about this guy it's difficult to pick a starting point.
He's probably one of the most successful underground rappers out there. He's made a few appearances here and there in the mainstream world but has yet to sustain a permanent position. One of underground hip hop's emceeing legends with a relatively unheard legacy.
Slaughterhouse
In the past year he has really began to get a little more mainstream shine from being in the hip hop super group Slaughterhouse.
This group consists of the underground beasts Joel Budden, Joel Ortiz, Crook, and Royce Da 5' 9". Combining to make deadly concoction of some of the best lyricists in the industry. Most of these rappers have had brief exposures in the mainstream rap industry but really are not all that talked about. That is until Slaughterhouse came around. Although I've really been unsure on where to draw the line between the underground and mainstream I still consider Crooked I and many of his compadres in Slaughterhouse to be a part of underground hip hop's essential elements.
The Opening of the Eyelid
Crook has been in the game since 1995. There are few out there who possess the skill that he so effortlessly displays.
From being on Death Row to forming Dynasty Entertainment this underground hip hop artist has a long list of accomplishments to boast about. Making a number of mixtapes and appearances on other underground rappers CD's he is a force to be reckoned with.
He has worked with underground rappers and other known artists such as Tupac Shakur, Chamillionaire, and Immortal Technique gaining invaluable experiences along the way. True to the heart of hip hop he continuously provides a level of emceeing rivaled by very few.
